Irish Club of Pueblo
OUR MISSION STATEMENT
We, bona fide residents of the State of Colorado, having a common interest in American and Irish culture and tradition, are organized in the Irish Club of Pueblo to foster our common social and cultural interests within the concept of the ideals of American democracy. Our more specific aims are to promote cultural, educational, literary, musical, athletic and social events. We hope to achieve this goal in various ways by familiarizing our members with American and Irish literature, music and arts, by arranging for lectures and discussions on all subjects of common interest, by sponsoring social gatherings and raising funds for the enhancement of the above stated purpose.
HISTORY AND CURRENT ACTIVITIES
The Pueblo Colorado Irish Club was organized in November 1985 by Joe Lenihan. Many others assisted in its formative years.
A history of the Irish in Pueblo was written by Mary Margaret Lindenmuth in 1992.
In 2017 the Club began meeting quarterly for special events in March, June, September and December. The Club is a member of the Pueblo Heritage Museum at 201 West B Street. Annual membership is $15 per year. Non-members are invited to attend these quarterly meetings. While it is a not-for- profit organization, the Club provides money to various City of Pueblo and community charities.
